Four ways to see the crossing
The crossing looks very different from each position. At street level you are part of the crowd. From a window or lounge you see the crowd as a pattern. From a rooftop you see the whole district. Which one fits depends on your budget, the time of day and how much you want to queue.
Prices below are for 2026 and can change. Check the opening hours of each place before you go, because hours and access can change for events and weather.

The viewpoints in detail
What each one offers and what to bring.
Shibuya Sky
The rooftop deck of the Shibuya Scramble Square tower is the highest option. Tickets are priced by time of day and by where you buy: JPY 2,700 online before 15:00 up to JPY 3,700 at the counter from 15:00. Bags, tripods and hats do not go to the roof, and lockers are on the 46th floor. The Shibuya Sky page has the full price table and rules.
MAG8 crossing view lounge
The lounge is called "Crossing View and Rooftop Lounge MAG8" and sits at MAGNET by SHIBUYA109. It relaunched on 3 March 2026. Entry is JPY 1,800 per person with one drink, and children up to 6 are free in the company of an adult. You need no reservation, and entry follows the order of arrival. Hours are 10:00 to 22:00 with the last entry at 21:30. There is no cash payment. Cards, QR payment and transport IC cards work. Access is by stairs, and the lounge is only for guests who can walk on their own. Strollers do not go on the deck. In bad weather the outdoor area can be limited, and the indoor lounge remains an alternative. Personal photos are fine, but tripods, selfie sticks and drones are not allowed.
The cafe window at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA
On the 2nd floor of the SHIBUYA TSUTAYA building, a Starbucks area looks over the crossing. It has 100 seats in total, and that is not the number of window seats. You cannot reserve a window seat, and a clear view is not guaranteed. It is a cafe, not a free viewing platform, so buy a drink. Opening hours are 08:00 to 22:30. The shop on the 1st floor is for takeaway drinks.
Shibuya Hikarie
Shibuya Hikarie has a Sky Lobby on the 11th floor. Check the current access and hours before you go.
Street level
The crossing is a public street. Cross on green, never on red or on flashing green. Do not stand still in the middle to film, and do not fly a drone over the crowd. Shoots and events on public roads need a police permit.
Mag's Park is not a free viewpoint
Events are priced separately.
The name Mag's Park also appears for events at the same building. Event prices are separate and do not equal the normal viewing entry. For the regular lounge, the MAG8 price above applies. Do not expect free access to an event area.

Best views of the crossing: frequently asked questions
What is the best view of Shibuya Crossing?
That depends on your budget. Street level is free, the cafe window costs the price of a drink, the MAG8 lounge costs JPY 1,800 with a drink, and Shibuya Sky costs JPY 2,700 to 3,700 for adults in 2026. The table above compares them.
What is the cheapest way to see the crossing from above?
A drink at the cafe window on the 2nd floor of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA is the lowest-cost option in this comparison. Shibuya Hikarie has a Sky Lobby on the 11th floor. Check its current access, hours and any entry cost before you rely on it.
Do I need a reservation for the MAG8 lounge?
No. Entry follows the order of arrival. Payment is cashless only, by card, QR code or transport IC card.
Can I get a window seat at the cafe?
Not by reservation. The 2nd floor has 100 seats in total, not 100 window seats, and a clear view is not guaranteed.
Can I fly a drone or use a tripod?
Drone flights over dense areas generally need prior permission under Japanese aviation rules, so do not fly one over the crowd. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed on the Shibuya Sky roof or in the MAG8 lounge.
